As anyone in genealogical research knows, this is a never ending battle to find and
categorize ancestors from all over the world. Especially if your family is filled with common Irish names. Sometimes I wish my name was JANOFFSKI, it would make this research a lot easier. Next time around I'll check my parents before I'm born.
One of the main stumbling blocks I ran into during my research was the location of the people I found. Only to find out later that I was bouncing around the wrong state. That being the case, for me, I have provided a list of places that my relatives lived so you can know immediately if there is a possible connection without having to "dig" too deep:
- New York City, Manhattan, Bronx
- Mamaroneck, Westchester County, New York
- Rye, Westchester County, New York
- Yonkers, Westchester County, New York
- Ireland, Leighlinbridge, Carlow
- Ireland, Tyrone
- Ireland, Meath
- England, Sheffield
- England, Ashton
- Montclair, New Jersey
Getting Started:
This site is categorized by family name. Within each family page if a different family name is shown, a link will be provided to that page. For example: William McDonald married Ethel Kelly - there will be link from Ethel Kelly to the Kelly page.
